L'okapi (o Okapia johnstoni) รจ una specie schiva originaria delle fitte foreste delle Repubblica Democratica del Congo. Ha un aspetto caratteristico con la testa grigio-bianca, il manto marrone scuro, strisce bianche su zampe anteriori e posteriori. I due sessi differiscono leggermente: il maschio ha delle piccole corna, mentre la femmina dei riccioli di pelo. Entrambi sono alti in media tra i 1,4 e i 1,6 metri e lunghi tra i 2,4 e i 2,6 metri.
