La rana dorata (o Phyllobates terribilis) è una specie di rana velenosa originaria delle foreste pluviali della costa pacifica della Colombia. Sebbene venga chiamata rana "dorata", in realtà può essere di colore verde acceso, gialla o arancione. Tutte le varianti misurano in media tra i 50 e i 55 millimetri e hanno una pelle estremamente velenosa che usano come meccanismo di difesa contro i predatori, mentre il colore vivace è un avvertimento alle potenziali minacce. Vivono a terra nelle foreste e, a differenza di altre specie di rane, non hanno bisogno di vivere in o vicino a uno specchio d'acqua, anche se diventa necessario quando devono deporre le uova.
