La nasica è un primate che vive nelle foresti pluviali, nelle foreste di mangrovie e nelle paludi del Borneo (Indonesia, Malesia e Brunei). La pelliccia è arancione scuro sulla schiena e sulla testa, arancione chiaro su petto, pancia e zampe anteriori e grigia su zampe posteriori, avambracci e parte inferiore del corpo. I maschi hanno un caratteristico naso allungato che ricade sopra le labbra. Nelle femmine questo tratto non è altrettanto marcato, ma anche il loro naso è più pronunciato rispetto a quello degli altri primati. I maschi e le femmine hanno dimensioni diverse: i maschi sono alti tra i 66 e i 76 centimetri e pesano tra i 16 e i 22,5 chili; le femmine, invece, sono alte tra i 53 e i 62 centimetri e pesano tra i 7 e i 12 chili.
