Lo scorpione gigante della foresta (o Heterometrus swammerdami titanicus) è una grande specie di aracnide che vive nelle foreste tropicali di India e Sri Lanka. È un animale robusto e nero con grosse placche chitinose e tenaglie molto grandi. Può avere anche un riflesso blu o verde sulla cuticola. Le tenaglie dello scorpione gigante della foresta sono forti e capaci di catturare e schiacciare la preda, mentre il suo veleno è piuttosto debole. Questo scorpione fa più affidamento sulla potenza delle tenaglie che sulla puntura del pungiglione.
