Lo scarabeo titano (o Titanus giganteus) è una specie molto grande che vive nelle foreste pluviali tropicali del Sud America. Ha un grande addome rossiccio e nero, zampe, antenne e torace neri e ali chiare con venature marroni. Le mandibole di questo scarabeo sono abbastanza forti da spezzare un ramoscello e, sebbene entrambi i sessi abbiano le ali, solo il maschio può volare. Come molte altre specie, è minacciato dalla costante distruzione delle foreste pluviali.
