Il vari rosso (o Varecia rubra) è una specie di primate in pericolo critico appartenente alla famiglia dei lemuri e originaria delle foreste pluviali di Masoala nel Madagascar settentrionale. Ha occhi gialli e un muso a punta nero con pelliccia rossa tutta attorno; il corpo è ricoperto di folta pelliccia rossa e ha coda e zampe nere. Ha anche una macchia bianca in cima alla testa.
