Il centopiedi amazzonico gigante (o Scolopendra gigantea) è un grande e spaventoso artropode predatore originario delle foreste del Sud America e dei Caraibi. È capace di catturare, avvelenare e uccidere molti animali e ha imparato diverse tecniche per catturare varie prede. Può raggiungere i 30 centimetri di lunghezza ed essere di vari colori, solitamente rosso, giallo, marrone o nero con zampe gialle e strisce scure tra i segmenti del corpo.
