Lo stambecco delle Alpi (o Capra Ibex) è una grande specie di capra di montagna, nativa delle regioni alpine di Italia, Francia, Germania, Svizzera, Austria e Slovenia. Ha un folto manto di colore marrone, con il ventre chiaro e zampe e coda più scure. Gli stambecchi delle Alpi hanno delle grandi corna crestate che si curvano all'indietro verso il corpo. I maschi sono molto più grandi e pesanti delle femmine: hanno le corna lunghe tra 69 e 98 centimetri, misurano tra 1,49 e 1,71 metri in lunghezza e tra 0,9 e 1,05 metri in altezza, e pesano tra gli 80 e i 100 chili. Le femmine hanno le corna lunghe tra 18 e 35 centimetri, raggiungono una lunghezza tra 1,21 e 1,41 metri, sono alte tra 0,73 e 0,84 metri e pesano tra 17 e 32 chili.
