Il leopardo nebuloso è un felino arboricolo di medie dimensioni che vive nelle foreste e nelle praterie del sud-est asiatico. Ha una pelliccia che varia dal giallo al grigio, ricoperta di grandi anelli neri reticolati. La testa, le zampe e la coda sono ricoperti di macchie e strisce nere. Il leopardo nebuloso è lungo tra i 69 e i 108 centimetri, con una coda lunga tra i 61 e i 91 centimetri, e pesa tra gli 11 e i 23 chili.
