Il binturong, o gatto orsino, è un mammifero che vive nelle foreste del sud-est asiatico e dell'Asia meridionale. Ha un corpo lungo e tarchiato con zampe larghe e relativamente corte. Ha il pelo ispido nero e la faccia marrone, con orecchie arrotondate dall'estremità bianca. Le femmine sono circa il 20% più grandi dei maschi. Il binturong ha una lunghezza compresa tra i 71 e i 91 centimetri e una coda lunga tra i 56 e i 91 centimetri. I maschi pesano tra i 9 e i 20 chili, mentre le femmine pesano tra gli 11 e i 32 chili.
