Die Atlantische Kegelrobbe ist ein im Meer lebendes Säugetier, das an den Küsten entlang des Atlantiks heimisch ist (Großbritannien, Irland, Island, Norwegen, Dänemark, Frankreich, die Niederlande, Belgien, Deutschland, Schweden, Finnland, Estland, Lettland, Litauen, Polen, Russland, Kanada, USA). Westliche Atlantische Kegelrobben sind deutlich größer als die östliche Variante. Die Männchen werden 2,30 bis 2,90 m lang und wiegen zwischen 205 und 370 kg, während es die Weibchen auf 1,90 bis 2,30 m Körperlänge und ein Gewicht von 160 bis 250 kg bringen.
