De Phyllium giganteum is een grote insectensoort die voorkomt in de westelijke tropische regenwouden van Maleisië. Deze soort beschikt over buitengewone camouflage. Zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, is hij zo geëvolueerd dat hij één wordt met de bladeren van de boom waarin hij leeft. Vrouwtjes zijn 12 cm lang, breed en plat, en hebben kleine, rudimentaire vleugels waarmee ze niet kunnen vliegen. Mannetjes zijn ongeveer 9 cm lang en een stuk dunner. Ze hebben lange vleugels waarmee ze kunnen vliegen.
