オオアリクイ (Myrmecophaga tridactyla) は、中南米の草原や森林に生息する中型の哺乳類である。名前の通り、ほとんどアリやシロアリだけを食べて生活する。匂いでアリのコロニーを探し出し、穴をあけて、長く粘着力のある舌を使って捕食する。長く管状の鼻、小さな目と耳、ずんぐりした手足、粗いたてがみ、太いふさふさした尾といった姿は、非常に特徴的である。体全体に特徴的な模様がある。白い前脚、灰色の鼻先、胸、のど、肩には黒い模様があり、黒茶色の尾とたてがみをしている。
