チャグロサソリ (Heterometrus swammerdami titanicus) は、インドとスリランカの熱帯雨林に生息する大型クモガタ種である。頑丈で色は黒、ぶ厚いキチン質の外殻と非常に大きなハサミを持っている。また、表皮に青や緑の光沢が見られることもある。チャグロサソリのハサミは強力で、獲物を捕まえて押しつぶすことができる。一方、毒は比較的弱い。毒針の効能よりもハサミの強さに依存しているためだと考えられている。
