ワオキツネザル (Lemur catta) は、他のキツネザルの仲間と同様、マダガスカル原産である。自然界では、世界の他の地域には存在しない。ワオキツネザルは、先の尖った鼻、猫のような耳、12～13 個の白い帯模様、13～14 個の黒い帯模様があり、先端の黒いとがった尻尾をしている。体の大きさは 39～46 cm、尻尾が 56～63cm で、一緒に移動し餌を食べる群れで生活する。ワオキツネザルは雑食性で、果物、葉、昆虫など、ほとんどの食物を食べる。
