レッサーパンダ (Ailurus fulgens) は、ヒマラヤ山脈と中国の複数の地域の森林地帯に生息する小さな哺乳類である。名前とは異なり、ジャイアントパンダとは近い関係にあるわけではないが、主に笹を食べるといった生態には共通する部分もある。赤い毛皮、黒い足、帯模様のある尻尾、耳と鼻が白く、体長は平均 50～64 cm、尾は 28～59 cm である。木登りや泳ぎが上手く、様々な環境で生活する。
