クジャクチョウ (Aglais io) は、ヨーロッパからアジアの温帯地域の草原や森林に生息するチョウの一種である。縁が茶色の赤い 4 枚の羽には、特徴的な目のような模様がある。この目玉模様は、黄、青、赤、紫の鱗粉で構成され、周囲に黒い模様がある場合もある。羽の下側は茶色から黒色である。オスとメスはよく似ているが、メスはオスより最大 10% ほど大きいことがある。羽を広げると 5 cm ～ 6.4 cm になる。幼虫は黒く、毛が生えており、サナギは緑色で背面にトゲがある。
