アルプスアイベックス (Capra Ibex) は、イタリア、フランス、ドイツ、スイス、オーストリア、スロベニアの高山地帯に生息する大型のヤギの一種である。厚い毛皮は、体全体が茶色で、下毛は色が薄く、脚や尾は色が濃くなっている。後方に向かってカーブした大きく立派な角がある。メスに比べてオスは体がはるかに大きく体重も重い。角の長さは 69 cm～ 98 cm で体長 1.49 m～ 1.71 m、体高 0.9 m～ 1.05 m、体重 80 kg～ 100 kg である。メスは 18 cm～ 35 cm の角を持ち、体長 1.21 m～ 1.41 m、体高 0.73 m～ 0.84 m、体重はわずか 17 kg～ 32 kg である。
