オウサマペンギン (Aptenodytes patagonicus patagonicus) は南洋に生息し、フォークランドやサウスジョージアなどの亜南極の島々で繁殖する大型の海鳥である。オウサマペンギンは背中と翼に濃い灰色の羽毛、胸と腹には白い羽毛があり、首が黄色で、頭が黒く、頬が明るいオレンジで、クチバシにオレンジのラインがみられる。体長 70 ～ 100 cmで、平均体重 9 ～ 14 kg で、コウテイペンギンに次いで大きい種である。
