L'orso dagli occhiali (o tremarctos ornatus) è un orso di medie dimensioni originario delle regioni delle Ande nel Sud America. Ha una folta pelliccia nera con segni bianchi sul volto e sul petto. Il muso è abbastanza piatto in confronto a quello degli altri orsi e testimonia lo stretto legame con gli orsi dal muso corto, ormai estinti. Come gli altri orsi, l'orso dagli occhiali è sessualmente dimorfico e le femmine sono molto più piccole dei maschi. Il maschio è alto al garrese tra 76 e 91 centimetri e pesa tra 100 e 200 chili, mentre la femmina è alta al garrese tra 60 e 73 centimetri e pesa tra 35 e 82 chili.
