Riconoscibile dalla pelliccia bianca o grigia, rosette nere su tutto il corpo e macchie nere sul volto, il leopardo delle nevi (o Panthera uncia) vive nelle montagne di Nepal, Tibet, India settentrionale, Siberia meridionale, Pakistan, Bhutan e Mongolia. La pelliccia è foltissima e ben isolante, cosa che consente al leopardo di sopportare temperature inferiori allo 0, fino ai -25° C. Si nutrono principalmente di capre delle nevi e pecore, ma anche di uccelli e roditori.
