La blatta rinoceronte (o Macropanesthia rhinoceros) è un grande insetto originario della macchia e delle foreste secche nell'Australia settentrionale. È grande più o meno 8 centimetri, pesa 30 grammi ed è di colore rossastro. Scava la propria tana nei terreni sabbiosi e può raggiungere anche 1 metro di profondità. Sono animali domestici abbastanza popolari perché non richiedono molta cura e si fanno maneggiare facilmente.
