La lucertola orientale dalla lingua blu è una specie di rettile che vive nelle foreste, nella macchia e nelle zone semi-desertiche dell'Australia. È un animale largo e tarchiato, con la testa triangolare e la coda robusta. Si può trovare in diverse colorazioni, ma solitamente ha scaglie marroni, beige e nere a strisce. Come suggerisce anche il nome, ha la lingua di un colore blu intenso. Le lucertole orientali dalla lingua blu possono raggiungere tra i 45 e i 60 centimetri di lunghezza.
