Il dingo (o Canis lupus dingo) è una grande specie di canide che vive in tutta l'Australia. Con una pelliccia color sabbia, ventre bianco, orecchie a punta e un lungo muso smussato, il dingo è magro, alto tra i 52 e i 60 centimetri e lungo tra 1,2 e 1,5 metri. Pesa tra i 14 e i 19 chili, i maschi sono leggermente più grandi delle femmine. È un predatore opportunista ma anche saprofago e, per questo motivo, la sua dieta è varia e comprende mammiferi, uccelli, rettili, carcasse, frutta e verdura.
