Il koala del Queensland (o Phascolarctos cinereus) è un marsupiale arboricolo che vive nelle foreste di eucalipto dell'Australia orientale. Ha una pelliccia che va dal grigio al marrone, zampe tozze con artigli agili, orecchie pelose e arrotondate e un grosso naso nero. Si tratta di una specie dimorfica, quindi i maschi sono molto più grandi delle femmine: i koala sono alti tra i 60 e i 75 centimetri, i maschi pesano tra i 4,2 e i 9,1 chili, mentre le femmine pesano tra i 4,1 e i 7,3 chili. Entrambi i sessi si nutrono quasi esclusivamente di foglie di eucalipto.
