La gacela órice (Oryx gazella) es una especie de antílope que habita en los desiertos del Kalahari y de Namibia, en el sur de África. Presentan varios rasgos visuales muy distintivos: cuernos largos y delgados, cara negra con áreas blancas sobre los ojos y el hocico, pelaje marrón grisáceo con manchas negras en el lomo y la parte superior de las patas, y sus característicos "calcetines" blancos. De media, las gacelas órice miden entre 1,1 y 1,3 m hasta la cruz, de 1,9 a 2,4 m de largo, y los cuernos alcanzan de media los 85 cm. Además, los machos son ligeramente más grandes y bastante más pesados que las hembras.
