El tigre de Bengala (Panthera tigris tigris) habita en la India, Bangladés, Nepal, Bután y el oeste de China. Puede vivir en todo tipo de entornos, como praderas, bosques o manglares, y caza presas grandes, por ejemplo, animales de pezuña hendida como cabras, ciervos y vacas, conocidos como "ungulados". El tigre de Bengala se caracteriza por el naranja brillante y las rayas marrones o negras de su pelaje, así como por su gran cabeza, extremidades musculadas y enormes dientes.
