El binturong, también conocido como manturón, es una especie de mamífero que habita en los bosques del sur y el sureste de Asia. Su cuerpo es largo y robusto, y contrasta con unas patas relativamente cortas y anchas. Tienen un pelaje negro y áspero, con la cara marrón y orejas redondeadas con la punta blanca. Las hembras son aproximadamente un 20 % más grandes que los machos. El binturong tiene una longitud corporal de entre 71 y 91 cm, y una cola de entre 56 y 91 cm de largo. Los machos pesan entre 9 y 20 kg, mientras que el peso de las hembras oscila entre los 11 y los 32 kg.
