北極熊 (Ursus maritimus) 是體型龐大的熊類，棲息在北極圈與副北極帶。牠們有全白的毛髮、深色眼睛與鼻子，體格十分結實，強壯的腿和巨大的腳掌非常適合游泳。為了盡可能減少體溫流失，這種熊的耳朵很小，尾巴也很短。雄性身長介於 2.4 至 3.0 公尺之間，體重在 350 至 750 公斤之間；雌性身長 1.8 至 2.4 公尺，體重為 150 至 250 公斤。
