大熊猫 (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) 是一种原生于中国中部山区的熊。它们有着黑白两色、分布独特的毛皮，四只脚、耳朵和黑色的眼圈，其他部位则是白色。熊猫几乎只以竹子为食，因此极为仰赖茂盛的竹林来生存。作为食物的竹子提供的能量很少，因此熊猫必须吃很多才能生存，醒着的时间大多都在觅食。摄取的能量不足也使它们只能产下非常小、非常脆弱的新生儿。
