紅鹿 (Cervus elaphus) 是廣泛分布在歐亞與北非部分地區溫帶草原、林地與灌木林的有蹄類動物。紅鹿有紅棕色毛皮，腹部的顏色較淺；牠們有又大又尖的耳朵、大大的眼睛與長長的嘴巴。本物種是雌雄異型：雄性體型比雌性大，且長有多叉的寬闊鹿角。紅鹿有多個亞種，體型會依地區與環境條件而不同。雄性紅鹿可以長到 1.7 公尺至 2.5 公尺長，肩高 1.07 公尺至 1.37 公尺。雌性紅鹿身長可達 1.6 公尺至 2.1 公尺，肩高 0.95 公尺至 1.22 公尺。雄鹿比雌鹿重，分別為 90 公斤至 240 公斤與 60 公斤至 170 公斤。
