非洲大蜗牛 (Achatina achatina) 是生活于西非森林地区的大型腹足类动物，主要集中在塞拉利昂、利比里亚、科特迪瓦、加纳和尼日利亚。它们的身体呈灰色，背上则有黄色、橙色或棕色的黑条纹圆锥状外壳，它们的英文名“Giant tiger land snail”就是因这种独特的花纹而来。非洲大蜗牛雌雄同体，同时具有雄性和雌性的生殖器，因此没有明显的雌雄之分。不过，尚未成熟的个体通常还没长出生殖器，因此也可视为“雄性”。
