欧亚猞猁 (Lynx lynx) 是体型中等的猫科动物，可见于欧洲与亚洲温带及北方森林与山区。体格宽大结实，腿部粗大，并以短尾与耳朵独特的簇毛闻名。毛色多样，自淡黄色至棕色皆有，全身带有黑色斑点。尾巴尖端与耳朵簇毛都是黑色。雄猞猁与雌猞猁外形相似，不过雄猞猁体性略大且体重重上许多。雄欧亚猞猁重 20 公斤，最重可达 45 公斤，头部加身体的长度为 98 至 109 厘米，肩高 60 至 75 厘米。雌猞猁体重仅 18 至 25 公斤，头部加身体的长度为 94 至 106 厘米，肩高 54 至 68 厘米。短尾巴不论性别皆为 11 至 24 厘米。
