红大袋鼠 (Marcropus rufus) 又名红袋鼠，是一种大型有袋哺乳类动物，广泛分布在澳大利亚大陆，仅较少栖息于沿岸地带及雨林中。红大袋鼠有着粗壮的直角形后肢，细小的前肢，像兔耳一样的大耳朵，脸部修长，口鼻钝平。红大袋鼠是有两性差异的物种，雄性与雌性外观不同。雄性的体型明显较大，身高约在 1.3 至 1.6 米之间，还有一条 1.3 米的尾巴，体重在 55 到 90 公斤之间。雌性体型较小，身高约在 0.85 至 1.05 米之间，体重在 18 至 40 公斤之间。雄性有着红色的毛发，腹部为浅色，下肢、胸部和上肢肌肉扎实，雌性则有着灰色的毛发，肌肉较不发达。
