Обыкновенный капуцин (или Cebus capucinus) — это древесный примат, обитающий в лесах Колумбии, Панамы и Эквадора. Всего существует 11 видов капуцинов и ещё больше подвидов. Обыкновенного капуцина проще всего отличить по его окрасу: шерсть на теле у него чёрная, а на плечах, груди и вокруг лица — желтовато-белая. На макушке у этого зверя небольшая «шапочка» из чёрной шерсти, а розовое лицо покрыто редкими волосками. Глаза карие, направлены вперёд. Длина тела обыкновенного капуцина составляет от 33 до 45 см, а длина хвоста — от 35 до 55 см. Весят эти животные от 1,5 до 4 кг. Самцы крупнее и тяжелее самок.
