Мархуры (или capra falconeri) — это крупные козлы из Центральной Азии, также иногда называемые винторогими. Это коренастые животные с крепкими бочковидными телами, способные карабкаться на крутые скалы и утёсы благодаря своим раздвоенным копытам. Мархуры покрыты густой шерстью — серо-коричневой у самцов и более светлой и насыщенной цветом у самок. По их спинам идёт чёрная полоса, а на ногах и мордах видны тёмные отметины. Шеи самцов украшает длинная и косматая борода. Оба пола имеют толстые и закрученные рога, однако у самцов они значительно длиннее. Кроме того, рост самцов в холке составляет от 0,95 м до 1,15 м, а их вес достигает до 110 кг, в то время как самки вырастают лишь до 75–90 см и весят примерно 40 кг.
