Ужасный листолаз (Phyllobates terribilis) — одна из разновидностей ядовитых лягушек-листолазов, эндемичных для тропических лесов тихоокеанского побережья Колумбии. Хотя их нередко называют «золотыми» лягушками, на самом деле их раскраска бывает мятно-зелёных, жёлтых и оранжевых тонов. Длина всех подвидов листолаза составляет в среднем 50-55 мм. Кожа этих лягушек чрезвычайно ядовита — яд защищает листолазов от хищников, тогда как яркая окраска служит им предупреждающим сигналом. Листолазы обитают на земле в тропических джунглях: в отличие от других видов лягушек, им не требуется жить в воде или рядом с ней. Впрочем, водоём необходим листолазу, чтобы откладывать туда яйца.
