У обоих полов голова, шея и ноги не покрыты перьями, кожа на них имеет оттенок от розового до белого. Внешний вид разных популяций может немного отличаться в зависимости от места происхождения. У самцов рост обычно составляет от 2,1 до 2,8 м, а самки мельче, их рост варьируется в пределах от 1,7 до 2 м.
