Дымчатые леопарды — это средние по размеру древесные кошки, обитающие в лесах и на равнинах Юго-Восточной Азии. Окрас шерсти — от жёлтого до серого, узор представлен крупными чёрными сетчатыми кольцами. Голова, лапы и хвост покрыты чёрными точками и полосами. Длина тела дымчатых леопардов варьируется от 69 до 108 см, а длина хвоста — от 61 до 91 см. Самцы крупнее самок. Дымчатые леопарды весят от 11 до 23 кг.
