Сулавесские бабируссы — вид млекопитающих из семейства свиней, обитающий в Индонезии, на острове Сулавеси и близлежащих островах. Сулавесские бабируссы практически не имеют волос. Окрас шкуры — серый. Самцы бабируссы имеют четыре крупных клыка, закручивающихся к голове. Длина тела вместе с головой у сулавесских бабирусс составляет от 85 до 110 см, длина хвоста — от 29 до 32 см, а рост в холке — от 58 до 66 см. Вес самцов варьируется от 70 до 100 кг, а вес самок — от 45 до 80 кг.

‘Babirusa’ means ‘pig deer’ in Malay.
Babirusas have a two chambered stomach, more like that of sheep than of other pigs.
The male babirusas tusks continue to grow throughout his life and can even grow into the skull.
Babirusas are missing a bone in the snout that other pigs have, so they do not engage in ‘rooting’ behaviour typical of pigs.
Babirusas are excellent swimmers; it is thought that they are found across various Indonesian islands because they swam to them.
