Гладколобые кайманы — это небольшие представители отряда крокодиловых, обитающие в реках и болотах в лесах Южной Америки. Внешний вид этих животных меняется по мере взросления. У кайманов большие выдвинутые вперёд карие (а иногда и жёлтые) глаза. У самцов длина тела варьирует от 1,3 до 1,5 м, а у самок в среднем составляет 1,15 м. Обычно кайманы весят от 6 до 7 кг.
