O varecia-vermelho (Varecia rubra) é uma espécie criticamente ameaçada de primata, nativa das florestas pluviais do norte de Masoala, em Madagáscar. Com olhos amarelos e face preta alongada, rodeada pelo rufo vermelho característico, o corpo do lêmure é coberto por uma pelagem vermelha espessa, com a cauda e as patas pretas. Ostenta também uma faixa branca no topo da cabeça.
