큰개미핥기(Myrmecophaga tridactyla)는 중앙아메리카와 남아메리카의 초원과 숲에 서식하는 중형 크기의 포유류입니다. 이름에서도 알 수 있듯이 큰개미핥기는 주로 개미와 흰개미를 먹습니다. 냄새로 개미와 흰개미의 집을 찾아내서 구멍을 뚫은 후 기다란 혀로 잡아먹습니다. 큰개미핥기의 외모는 아주 독특한데, 긴 관 모양의 주둥이, 작은 눈과 귀, 굵은 팔다리, 거친 갈기, 털이 수북한 꼬리를 가지고 있습니다. 또한 몸 전체에 특유의 무늬를 가지고 있는데, 앞다리는 흰색 털로 덮여있고 주둥이는 회색이며 가슴, 목, 어깨에는 검정 줄무늬가 있습니다. 또한 꼬리와 갈기는 뻣뻣한 검정색과 갈색 털이 자랍니다.
