라마(Lama glama)는 남아메리카 서부 지역의 산과 대초원에서 서식하는 낙타과 동물입니다. 에콰도르, 페루, 볼리비아, 칠레, 아르헨티나에서 자생하며 라마의 털이 고급 옷감 재료로 쓰이면서 전 세계에서 가축으로 기르고 있습니다. 4000년 전부터 가축으로 사육되었으며 짐을 옮기는 데 쓰이기도 했습니다. 라마는 긴 목과 긴 다리를 가진 육중한 몸에 흰색, 황갈색, 검은색, 회색 또는 무늬가 있는 억세고 텁수룩한 털이 덮여 있습니다. 암수는 모두 키가 1.6~1.8m이고 몸길이는 92~160cm이며 몸무게는 130~200kg 정도까지 자랍니다.
