재규어(Panthera onca)는 대형 고양잇과 동물로 남아메리카, 중앙아메리카, 멕시코 전역에 걸쳐 서식하며 소수가 미국 남부에 살고 있습니다. 다양한 환경에서 생활할 수 있지만, 늪이나 강이 가까이 있는 밀림을 선호합니다. 다른 대형 고양잇과 동물에 비해 다부진 체격으로 평균 몸무게가 56~96kg이며, 몸길이는 112~185cm에 이릅니다. 노란색과 주황색에 가까운 털에 검은색 장미 무늬가 있으며, 배 부분은 흰색을 띠고 있습니다.
