팔라스고양이(Otocolobus manul), 다른 이름으로 마눌은 중앙 및 동아시아에 서식하는 소형 야생 고양이입니다. 서식지는 캅카스산맥 서쪽과 히말라야산맥 남쪽에 국한되어 있습니다. 가장 눈에 띄는 특징이라면 무척 빽빽하고 긴 털 때문에 생긴 통통하고 말랑할 듯한 풍채입니다. 털색은 회색을 바탕으로 베이지색부터 탁한 붉은색까지의 색이 감돌며, 드문드문 검은색 물결무늬가 있습니다. 머리는 작고 둥근 형태에 주변에 난 풍성한 털 사이로 작은 삼각형 귀가 나 있습니다. 수컷과 암컷의 형태는 같고, 머리부터 몸통까지의 길이는 46~65cm, 꼬리는 21~31cm, 몸무게는 2.5~4.5kg입니다.
