동아프리카와 남아프리카에 서식하는 커크딕딕(Madoqua kirkii)은 개방된 초원 생활에 적응한 작은 영양입니다. 얇은 다리에 짧은 몸을 가지고 있어 연약해 보이며, 뒷다리가 더 깁니다. 작은 머리에는 뾰족한 주둥이와 크고 둥근 눈이 달려 있습니다. 수컷은 짧은 뿔을 가지고 있는데, 이마에 난 빳빳한 털에 일부 또는 전체가 가려져 있기도 합니다. 털은 짧고 갈색이며, 등과 엉덩이로 갈수록 회색으로 변하며 배는 더 연한 색입니다. 수컷과 암컷의 외형은 수컷의 뿔을 빼면 동일합니다. 둘 다 키는 35~45cm이며 몸무게는 약 7.2kg입니다.
