코모도왕도마뱀(Varanus komodoensis)은 인도네시아의 코모도 섬, 린카 섬, 플로레스 섬, 길리 모탕 섬에 서식하는 큰 파충류입니다. 그들은 몸이 칙칙한 녹색과 갈색 사이의 색을 띠며, 넓게 벌어진 다리와 크게 벌어지는 입, 길고 근육질인 꼬리, 갈라진 노란색 혀를 지녔습니다. 수컷은 몸길이가 평균 2.59m에 이르며 몸무게는 보통 79~91kg입니다. 암컷은 수컷보다 작아서 몸길이는 평균 2.29m이고, 몸무게는 68~73kg입니다.
