검은꼬리누(Connochaetes taurinus)는 남아프리카에 서식하는 대형 영양으로, 흰수염누 또는 호랑이무늬꼬리누라고도 불립니다. 검은꼬리누의 털은 연한 회색이나 갈색으로, 목과 어깨, 가슴에는 어두운 줄무늬가 있습니다. 또한 이들은 검고 긴 꼬리와 갈기를 가지고 있으며, 아종에 따라 갈기가 서 있거나 목 주변에 축 처져 있기도 합니다. 목 아래에는 흰색 수염이 늘어져 있습니다. 검은꼬리누는 암컷과 수컷이 다르게 생겼습니다. 암수 모두 독특한 L자 모양의 뿔이 있지만, 수컷이 암컷보다 덩치가 큽니다. 수컷의 어깨 높이는 1.23~1.65m이며, 길이는 1.7~2.4m, 몸무게는 165~290kg입니다. 반면, 암컷은 어깨 높이가 1.14~1.42m, 길이는 1.75~2.15m, 몸무게는 140~260kg입니다.
