대만흑곰(Ursus thibetanus formosanus)은 대만에 사는 반달가슴곰의 아종입니다. 그들은 다부진 몸과 검은색 털, 둥근 귀, 길고 곧은 주둥이를 지녔습니다. 하지만 가장 두드러지는 특징은 역시 가슴에 난 V자 모양 흰색 털입니다. 대만흑곰은 암수가 다르게 생겨서 수컷이 암컷보다 훨씬 큽니다. 수컷의 몸무게와 크기는 평균 135kg에 1.7m이며, 암컷은 평균 70kg에 1.35m입니다.
